Book Centre

The ISSU Book Centre first opened its doors in 1896 in Calcutta, (now Kolkata). Book store in Coonoor, located at Arthington House, Bedford, in the heart of vibrant upper Coonoor since 1927. Plans are afoot for the renovation of the Book Centre to give it a classical and modern look.
The Book Centre is over 125 years old and is now a landmark in town. The Book
Centre stocks and distributes ISSU publications. It also stocks other Christian
publications and general literature, stationery, and educational toys.

Opened in July 2015, The Treasure Chest, a unit of the ISSU Book Centre, is a
boutique and gift shop. It is located on the upper level of the ISSU Complex,
Bedford, Coonoor. It stocks educational books and toys, and handcrafted gifts
from near and far --- embroidery from missions in South India, crafts from
the Nilgiris, Nagaland, and Manipur in the North East, woodwork from
Saharanpur, tribal art from Orissa, and brassware from Moradabad. It encourages visitors to the Nilgiris, and especially to Coonoor, to buy gifts from the Treasure Chest.
